Shatta Wale Headlines MoMoFest Accra Tonight – Accra Sports Stadium Set To Be On Fire With ShattaFest26
All roads lead to the Accra Sports Stadium tonight as Ghana’s Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, headlines the 2026 edition of MoMoFest Accra, dubbed ShattaFest26.
The highly anticipated event, organized by MobileMoney Fintech LTD (MMFL), is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. today, Saturday, October 17, 2026, and is expected to draw tens of thousands of music lovers and loyal members of the Shatta Movement.
According to MyJoyOnline and DailyGuide Network, MoMoFest 2026 will blend music, entertainment, and Ghana’s biggest cashless market experience, as part of MMFL’s push to promote financial inclusion and digital payments in Ghana.
The promotional campaign for the event carries the viral tagline, “Accra, Shatta Wale come like kakai,” which has already taken over social media and set the tone for what organizers describe as a historic night in Accra.
Star-Studded Lineup For Tonight
While Shatta Wale remains the headline act, the festival will also feature performances from some of Ghana’s hottest acts including Captan, Chief One, and Mona4Real.
Captan, who is Shatta Wale’s protégé and known as the #1 son of the King, has already taken to social media to eulogize his boss ahead of tonight’s performance.
“A white night? Not just a show, but a celebration of a King, a legacy and a MOVEMENT that can never be erased. Being the #1 son of the king comes with a different kind of pride, loyalty and responsibility. Some bonds go beyond music. #1family minamino,” Captan wrote.
Other upcoming artistes billed for the night include Great Money, 28Frikky, Origyinal, and Vybzlord, who will warm up the stage before Shatta Wale’s grand entry.
More Than Music – Cashless Market & Keteke Game Show
Organizers say MoMoFest 2026 is not just about music. It is about experiencing the future of money in Ghana.
Attendees will get an interactive look at mobile money tools, live demonstrations of digital financial services, and how to use the MoMo App for everyday transactions.
There will be a massive Cashless Market at the stadium where fans can buy food, drinks, clothes, and accessories using only MoMo — no cash. There will also be the popular Keteke Game Show, giveaways, and other fun activities.
“The heat in the city is real! Accra, get your drip and your crew ready for ShattaFest x MoMoFest this weekend. From the Cashless Market to the Keteke Game Show and plenty more, we’re bringing the vibes and the fun! Grab your ticket and come do more with MoMo,” a promo flyer from MMFL read.
The event is sponsored by big brands including Ecobank, Guinness Ghana, Waya, SHAXI, and Charterhouse.
Most Expensive Tickets in Ghana History?
ShattaFest x MoMoFest 2026 is also making history with ticketing. Shatta Wale is selling VVIP Prime tickets for GH¢10,000 and standard VVIP tickets for GH¢2,000 — believed to be the highest-priced tickets in Ghanaian music history.
The Dancehall King has, however, clarified that his decision to host ticketed events was at the request of fans who wanted a more exclusive experience.
Fans are being urged to purchase tickets via the SHAXI app or website at http://shaxigh.com. Organizers say pitch covers are ready and preparations are in full swing.
Building On ShattaFest 2025 Success
Tonight’s concert builds on the successful collaboration between MMFL and Shatta Wale during Shatta Fest 2025, which was held at Independence Square in Accra on October 18, 2025, to celebrate Shatta Wale’s 41st birthday.
That free concert drew over 100,000 fans, turned Black Star Square into a sea of white-clad Shatta Movement fans, and featured performances from Sarkodie, Samini, Wendy Shay, Medikal, and many others. It ended at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday morning.
After that event, Shatta Wale announced plans to make ShattaFest an annual music festival, similar to AfroNation and Coachella, and even take it to other regions and beyond Ghana.
Tonight at Accra Sports Stadium is the first step in that vision.
Shatta Wale Calls For Unity
In recent weeks, Shatta Wale has been preaching unity among Ghanaian artistes. During his MoMoFest X ShattaFest concert in Ho on October 3, 2026, at the Youth Resource Centre in Adaklu, he performed Stonebwoy’s hit “Putuu” and told fans that nobody can stop him from loving Stonebwoy.
“When we talk about superstars from the Volta Region, we mention Edem, Stonebwoy and myself, Shatta Wale,” he said, urging youth to set aside hatred and support one another.
Fans are expecting that same spirit of unity tonight at Accra Sports Stadium.
Security is expected to be tight, with police and private security personnel deployed to ensure a safe and memorable night.
http://Kasoanews.com will be live at Accra Sports Stadium tonight to bring you exclusive photos, videos, and updates from ShattaFest26 x MoMoFest 2026.
If you are in Accra tonight, this is the place to be. Gates open at 4 p.m., show starts at 6 p.m. Don’t miss it.
