BREAKING: NDC RECEIVES SAD NEWS AS GHANAIAN ACTOR AND POLITICIAN SETH KWAME DZOKOTO REPORTEDLY DIES AFTER COLLAPSING AT OWASS RADIO IN TARKWA

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the entire Ghanaian entertainment industry have been thrown into a state of shock and mourning following reports of the sudden death of popular Ghanaian actor, comedian, television presenter and politician, Seth Kwame Dzokoto.

Reports published on Thursday, October 22, 2026, indicate that the beloved entertainer reportedly collapsed while participating in a live radio discussion at Owass Radio in Tarkwa in the Western Region.

According to information gathered from Citi Newsroom and other credible Ghanaian media outlets, Dzokoto was a guest on the station’s morning programme when he suddenly became unwell and collapsed in the studio, leaving presenters and fellow panelists in panic.

Sources say he was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital in Tarkwa for emergency medical attention, but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival by doctors on duty.

A source reportedly associated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the political party he has supported and contested on its ticket for many years, has also confirmed his passing to some media houses, although an official statement from his family is yet to be released.

However, as at the time of filing this report, the precise circumstances surrounding the incident and the official medical cause of his reported death had not been officially disclosed by his family or hospital authorities.

WHO WAS SETH KWAME DZOKOTO?

Seth Kwame Dzokoto was not just an ordinary Ghanaian – he was a household name who had touched lives through many spheres.

He was a familiar and cherished personality in Ghana’s entertainment industry, having established himself over two decades through acting, comedy, television presentation and radio broadcasting.

He gained widespread national recognition for playing the iconic role of Judge Koboo in the popular Ghanaian television series Efiewura, produced by Akan Drama.

His role as the no-nonsense but hilarious judge in Efiewura made him a favourite among local television audiences, especially lovers of Akan drama.

His catchphrases and comic court rulings brought laughter to millions of Ghanaian homes every week.

Beyond Efiewura, Dzokoto featured in several other Ghanaian movies and comedy skits, working with legends like Kofi Adu (Agya Koo), Mercy Asiedu, Kwaku Manu and many others.

He also presented Edziban, a popular television programme that explored Ghanaian cuisine and food culture.

On Edziban, which was aired on TV3 and later on other platforms, Dzokoto traveled across Ghana showcasing traditional dishes, local cooking methods, and culinary practices of different ethnic groups.

The show not only entertained but also educated Ghanaians about their rich food heritage and promoted local foods.

As a broadcaster, he worked with various radio stations, including hosting programmes that discussed social issues, politics and entertainment.

HIS POLITICAL JOURNEY WITH NDC

Beyond his work in entertainment and broadcasting, Dzokoto pursued a serious career in politics under the umbrella of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He was a staunch and loyal member of the NDC who never hid his political affiliation. He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the party’s ticket during the 2016 general elections, although he did not win.

Despite losing, he remained active in the party’s activities in the Western Region, campaigning for the NDC in the 2020 and 2024 elections.

He was known for using his entertainment platform to mobilize youth and support NDC campaigns, often appearing at party rallies and events to entertain supporters.

His involvement in both entertainment and politics gave him visibility across different sections of Ghanaian society – from market women who loved Efiewura to young voters who followed his political commentary.

HE DISMISSED DEATH RUMOURS JUST LAST MONTH

What makes this latest report even more shocking is that just a few weeks ago, in September 2026, Seth Dzokoto himself addressed rumours about his health and death that were circulating on social media.

During an interview on a Kumasi-based radio station, he dismissed speculation about his death and openly discussed health challenges he had reportedly experienced in the past. He assured his fans that he was doing well and was focused on his work and family.

Many fans who heard that interview are now finding it difficult to believe the news of his reported passing.

REACTIONS AND TRIBUTES

Although official confirmation from his family is still pending, news of his reported passing has already started generating massive reactions from colleagues in the entertainment industry, political associates and members of the public who followed his career.

Several actors, including colleagues from the Efiewura cast, have posted crying emojis and tributes on Facebook, describing him as a kind, humble and talented brother.

NDC communicators in the Western Region have also expressed shock, with some calling for calm until the family speaks.

WAITING FOR OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION

As it stands, Ghanaians are waiting for official information regarding his death, family statements and funeral arrangements, which are expected to emerge as more details become available.

Until confirmation is provided by his family, the hospital, or the relevant authorities, details surrounding the reported death remain subject to verification. We urge the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.

If confirmed, this would be a huge loss to Ghana. Ghana has lost a talented actor, a food tourism promoter, a broadcaster, and a dedicated NDC member who served his party and his country with passion.

May his soul rest in peace, if the reports are indeed true.

We will keep you updated as more information comes in from Tarkwa.
