Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has sued fellow actor Lilwin for defamation, demanding GH¢10 million in damages.
The lawsuit follows comments Lilwin made before the filming of ‘A Journey to Africa’ at Nzulezu in the Western Region.
Lilwin claimed that Van Vicker had failed to take part in the movie and threatened to prevent him from appearing in any Kumawood film.
According to the court document dated October 10, 2026, Van Vicker claims the defamatory statements have caused him fear and anxiety.
He also says he has cancelled planned business trips to Kumasi because of concerns about his safety.
Van Vicker is asking the court to award him GH¢10 million in exemplary damages, additional damages for libel, and legal costs.
He is also seeking an order compelling Lilwin to publish a retraction and apology on news portals for four consecutive weeks.
Additionally, he wants the court to restrain Lilwin from making similar statements in the future.
The document was signed by Ebenezer Asare, counsel for Van Vicker.
Rev. Francis Antwi, popularly known as Rev. Obofour and founder of Anointed Palace Chapel, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to prohibit pastors from using school classrooms and other school facilities for church services.
Speaking during a church service on October 11, 2026, Rev. Obofour said if he were President of Ghana, he would not allow any pastor to use classrooms for church activities.
According to him, the government struggles to raise funds to build school blocks and to provide chairs, but pastors who use the classrooms for services often end up destroying the chairs and other property.
He stressed that such activities should be banned to protect school property.
According to the pastor, some churches that use classrooms for worship services damage the furniture provided for students.
Rev. Obofour added that if pastors insist on holding church services in classrooms, they should also consider holding services in hospital theatres.
His comments have drawn attention to the use and maintenance of public school facilities for activities outside regular teaching hours.
His comments come amid the implementation of the new traffic regulations.
