You’re Not on the Same Level as Davido and Diamond Platnumz, Don’t Try and Charge the Same as them – Pundit Drags Shatta Wale

A Ghanaian entertainment pundit has called on dancehall king, Shatta Wale, to stop comparing himself to artists such as Davido and Diamond Platnumz because he’s a ‘local champion’.

Speaking following the Richard Nii Armah Quaye birthday bash, the pundit addressed reports on why Shatta Wale failed to appear at the event.

According to reports, Tanzanian artist, Diamond Platnumz and Davido were both paid around $500,000 to $600,000 each to appear at the event. Meanwhile, Ghanaian artists such as Stonebwoy and Sarkodie reportedly received about $200,000.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale, who was expected to appear at the program, was a no-show. Reports indicate he demanded payment in the same range as what was paid to the foreign artists.

Reacting to that, the pundit said Wale is not on the same level as Diamond Platnumz, Davido, Burna Boy or Wizkid to expect to be paid as much as them. He argued that while Wale has a very successful career, he remains a local champion and will only reach the stage of the other artists if he elevates his international profile.
