Ghanaians have reacted to Afua Asantewaa’s disqualification, attributing the disqualification to many factors.
Many Ghanaians are of the view that the Guinness World Record disqualified Afua Asantewaa’s attempt because of the visit of the vice veep, Dr Bawumia.
Netizens have said that the Guinness World Record in their review saw that the vice veep visited Afua Asantewaa and as a result, decided to disqualify her for any tangible reason.
According to netizens, the vice veep is cursed that everything that he touches or takes part in becomes a failure.
Netizens have said had it not been because of the vice veep’s participation, the GWR would not have disqualified the internet sensation.
This comes after the GWR in a post via their official Twitter page made it known of their decision to disqualify Afua Asantewaa.
In the post, the GWR said ‘Unfortunately, Afua’s Guinness World Record attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful, but we hope that she will make another attempt soon.
We have seen how inspirational it has been for her fans. The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested a priority service, so we refunded her payment earlier this month. We wish Afua the best of luck with any future record attempt”.
Well, the GWR has released another statement to reveal why they had no option but to disqualify the Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attempted
According to them in their new post, Afua did not follow all the guidelines of the Guinness World Record in her attempt to break the record of the longest singing marathon.
The GWR claims under normal circumstances, Afua was to rest for 5 minutes every hour but she rested for more than that, the reason why they had to disqualify her.
