CCTV footage from the robbery, which took place at Akropong in Ghana, shows the MoMo vendor at work.
Suddenly, two thugs burst into the store and immediately started attacking him.
The vendor, scared for his life, started screaming for help as the two robbers assaulted him. At a point, he changed strategies and started calling on them to simply take his money and go.
Despite begging them to rob him and go, the vendor at the last minute when the robbers were leaving, changed his stance and started chasing them.
Thankfully, they left and did not harm him in any way despite his last-minute change of mind.
Video of the robbery surfaced on social media and sparked numerous reactions.
“Two strong men u cannot work but instead steal from ur fellow man ah! God wil punish dem paa,” one netizen said.
Another wrote: “OMG , I can’t even breathe well watching this. Thank God they didn’t kill him”
This robbery comes on the heels of recent similar attacks on MoMo vendors, a few of which have led to loss of life.
Patricia Nimako, a 27-year-old MoMo vendor in Kofrom, was shot and killed by robbers in February at her shop. The assailants made away with GHC 10,000.
Another deadly robbery occurred earlier this month, when robbers broke into the home of a popular Kwadaso Onion Market MoMo vendor, robbing him of an undisclosed amount of money and taking his life.
