Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM, the renowned record producer and entrepreneur emphasised the importance of self-reliance in building a sustainable career in the creative arts industry.

Richie disclosed that he consistently shares this sentiment with the artists he mentors at Lynx Entertainment, the record label that has nurtured some of Ghana’s biggest stars.
“Whenever I meet my artists, I always tell them not to rely on the government,” he stated.
Richie Mensah explained that the government’s role in the creative sector, while important, often falls short of meeting the specific needs of individual creatives
. He noted that successful artists and entrepreneurs typically achieve their goals by taking initiative, thinking outside the box, and making independent strides.
“Waiting on the government can stall your progress. You need to focus on your craft, build your network, and find ways to make things happen for yourself,” Richie advised.
