S.D.A Church donates to Muslim community

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) has extended support to the Muslim community at Burma Camp in Accra through its Adventist Muslim Relations Department, in a gesture of solidarity and interfaith harmony.
The donation underscores the church’s commitment to fostering understanding and cooperation among different religious communities.
This act of generosity not only demonstrates compassion but also strengthens the bonds of unity and mutual respect among diverse faith groups within the community.
The items, including bags of rice, oil, water, and toiletries, were presented to the Al Aziz Central Mosque at Burma Camp to assist its members in breaking their fast and celebrating Eid ul-Fitr.
This generous act of giving highlights the commitment of the Adventist-Muslim relationship to fostering unity, promoting mutual respect, brotherhood and understanding among different faith communities.
It is a testament to the S.D.A Church belief in the power of interfaith dialogue and cooperation to build a more harmonious society.
The event was graced by several notable figures from the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Among them were the President of the Southern Ghana Union Conference of the SDA Church, Dr. Thomas Techie Ocran, Director in Charge of Adventist Muslim Relations, Colonel Duodu, and other supporting officers of the church in the military.
The President of the Southern Ghana Union Conference, S.D.A, Pastor Dr. Thomas Techie Ocran, during the presentation remarked that Muslims are the closest brothers Christians have since both have the same spiritual lineage, Abraham.
He further urged the Muslim community to also do their best to promote peace as the election approaches because whoever emerges as leader would have been chosen by God or Allah, as both doctrines state.
The leadership of the Al Aziz central mosque-Burma Camp, Chief Imams – Lt Col Mohammed, Captain Salifu Shamsudin, Flt Lt Maiga expressed gratitude to the S.D.A Church leadership for the donation and promised to pray for Allah to shower blessings on the church.
They further noted that the items donated would go a long way to support their needs during this season of their fasting.
