Speaking on Entertainment Guide on the Ghanaian television channel, DGN, the veteran critic said the birthday celebrant, Richard Quaye, is not ‘Father Christmas’ to throw such figures around.
Boadu-Ayeboafah opined that musicians like Diamond Platnumz and Davido, who attended the event, had their expenses taken care of and were paid a fee. He added that the fee was likely a token but not a commercial rate.
In the wake of a recent birthday party organized by the founder/owner of Bills Micro-Credit, Richard Quaye, to celebrate his 40th birthday, reports emerged that foreign artists such as Davido and Diamond Platnumz were paid $600,000 for their performances and that Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and other local artists received circa $250,000.
Reacting to those claims, the pundit described Quaye’s party, dubbed #RANQ40 as a networking event rather than a simple birthday party, adding that the people who attended were more interested in building a relationship with the wealthy Quaye rather than charging him for a program.
