Following the gruesome murder of the popular Kotoko fan during a game with Nsoatreman FC, it emerged that he had six children.

In the aftermath of Pooley’s death, numerous pledges were made to cater for him and his kids. One pledge, from the Asantehene, life patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko football club, was to cater for the kids’ education.
All six children were enrolled onto Otumfuo’s educational fund, to ensure they can be educated at no cost.
However, in a stunning turn of events, Pooley’s family’s has disowned four of the six kids, claiming they’re not his.
In an interview, a relative of Pooley said he only has two children with his first wife. She said Pooley married Gifty when she already had four kids with an Ewe man, who is still alive.
The family said they were shocked that following Pooley’s death, Gifty changed her kids’ surname to Frimpong (Pooley’s real name is Francis Yaw Frimpong) on his obituary, claiming he had six kids when they only recognize two.
According to them, Gifty made those changes to ensure whatever benefits she gets from Pooley’s death will cover her kids as well, despite them having no connection to Pooley.
