The mother of two, from Ugbokolo Local Government Area in Benue State, was found dead three days after her family declared her missing.
She was last seen around 3 am on Friday, May 17, 2024, near City College of Education on Abacha Road, Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
Attempts to locate her were unsuccessful until her sister, Ochanya Chelle, confirmed her death on Monday, May 20.
According to her father, Mr. Patrick Atayi, Margaret fell into depression due to marital issues and ultimately took her own life.
“Margaret was a mother of two children and had been depressed for some time because of mistreatment by her husband,” he explained.
“She left the house early on that Friday morning without anyone knowing. Her body was discovered late on Monday, and all available evidence indicated that she committed suicide.
