Ministry of Education Reacts to Postponement of School Reopening Claims
Basic schools across the country resumed classes today, 3rd April, 2023 after a short break they went on the 24th of March, 2023.

However, one of the top trends on social media right now is a circulations indicating that the reopening of basic schools have been postponed.
According to the said circulations, the Education Minister, Dr. Adutwum, in an interview with Joy TV today, 3rd April, 2023, announced the postponement of reopening date of all Basic Schools to 11th April, 2023 in order to cover the Easter break to avoid absenteeism in schools. This left Teachers confused with a lot of questions lingering in their minds.
Well, the spokesperson of the Minister of Education, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, reacting to the news in a Facebook post, however encouraged the general public to disregard the said news in circulation.
He emphasized that the academic calendar for KG/Primary and JHS is still in force.
“The 2023 Academic Calendar for KG/PRIMARY and JHS is still in force. Disregard any news of postponement in the Reopening date,” He wrote.
