According to documents, Boahen acquired several properties worth millions of dollars, mostly in Accra but with some outside the country as well, particularly in the United Kingdom.
President Mahama’s Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Ayine, revealed in a press conference to update the public held Monday, March 24, 2025, that Boahene diverted over $7m of funds meant for a cyber security contract into his private accounts.
Ayine revealed that over time, the former NSB boss withdrew over Ghc 49,000,000, most of which went towards helping him purchase these properties.
In his press conference, Ayine said the former NSB boss faces over 25 years in jail if convicted. His wife also faces suspicion in the scandal, as some funds were also transferred into her private accounts.
