Violence broke out during Asante Kotoko’s 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC this afternoon, resulting in the tragic death of a fan and multiple injuries. The club confirmed in an official statement that the supporter sustained fatal injuries during the clashes and later passed away at Sunyani Hospital.

The match was already heated, with tensions on the pitch leading to confrontations between players and four red cards being issued. However, the situation escalated further after the final whistle, as rival fans engaged in violent clashes.

Following the incident, the entire Kotoko team visited the hospital, where they received the devastating news. The club has strongly condemned the violence and is urging the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to launch an immediate investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
