The incident occurred while they were driving from Amsterdam to Italy. Kwabena Kwabena recounted how immigration officers followed their car for over an hour before pulling them over. Their situation only began to improve after a white human rights lawyer stepped in, challenging the officers’ actions in court. Although the court ordered their release, the officers refused to return their passports, insisting on escalating the matter to a higher court.
