On Tuesday, Afrifa was arrested by officers of the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service. Officers reportedly obtained a warrant for his home and electronic devices and executed a search at his residence following his apprehension.

Initial reports claimed Afrifa – who has recently become a thorn in the side of the ruling NDC government – was facing more persecution for his political leanings. Reports alleged National Security Operatives arrested him for his constant attacks on the President.
However, it later emerged that Afrifa’s arrest had nothing to do with politics but with his ex-girlfriend. The former radio host allegedly engaged in revenge p*rn, where one threatens to release compromising photos of a former lover. His ex therefore reported him to the police who arrested him, which is why they also searched all his electronic devices.
Upon his return to his ‘For the Records’ show on Wednesday night, Afrifa admitted that was the reason for his arrest. He vowed to expose his ex-girlfriend for lying about him.

His claims were not convincing to social media users who slammed him for being unable to keep up with Kevin Taylor, his mortal enemy.
“With this attitude and you want to compete with Kevin Taylor tweaaa kaiii,” one netizen wrote.
