Here Are the Military Figures Appointed by Mahama to the National Security Team
In a bold and decisive action aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the nation, President-elect John Mahama has announced the formation of a new six-member team that will take charge of national security during the interim period until more permanent appointments can be made.
With this strategic move, Mahama is believed to be demonstrating his commitment to effectively addressing the ongoing security challenges facing the country.
The details of this important announcement were shared through a comprehensive press release issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who serves as the special aide to Mr. Mahama.
In this release, it was revealed that Prosper Douglas Bani, a seasoned political figure who previously held the role of Minister for the Interior, will lead this newly established security team. His extensive experience in managing national security matters positions him well for this responsibility.
Joining Prosper Bani on this team is a distinguished group of individuals, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in their respective fields. Among them is Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), who has served as the Chief of Defence Staff and possesses deep insights into military operations and national defense.
Another key member is Kofi Totobi Quakyi, who has held the position of Minister for National Security and understands the complexities of maintaining security at the national level.
Additionally, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., known for his previous role as National Security Coordinator, will contribute his legal and strategic acumen to the team. Also included are Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd.) and COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.), both of whom have significant experience in security and law enforcement.
