Speaking in an emotional interview on UTV, she accused the former manager of forcing Kwadee to do music despite his fragile condition, exposing him to an environment that encouraged drug abuse. According to her, the pressures of the industry played a major role in worsening his mental health.
“His management team didn’t care about his mental health. All they cared about was him singing and making money out of his craft. Even when he wasn’t well, they still forced my poor son to work. The pressure from the work got to him and forced him to turn to hard drugs. As a mother, I get heartbroken whenever I see my son.”
Okomfour Kwadee, known for his unique storytelling rap style, has battled mental health issues for years, with several reports of his struggles surfacing in the media. While some industry players have called for support, his mother’s latest revelation suggests that those who were supposed to manage him may have contributed to his downfall.
Her statement has sparked outrage among fans, with many questioning how much responsibility management teams should take for the well-being of their artists.
Meanwhile, Hammer Nti is yet to respond to these accusations.
