On Friday, January 24th, 2025, a tragedy occurred at the premises of the Borger school when Campos’ coat became caught in the door of a vehicle during drop-off in the car rider line.

A senior school administrator quickly responded to the scene of the tragedy and attempted performing life-saving measures. Campos was also transported to a local hospital where she continued receiving treatment.
Tragically, she could not survive her injuries and passed away.
A GoFundMe has been established to help the Campos family in this trying times, raising almost $70,000 within a few hours of it being established.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic loss of Serenity Campos, a beautiful little girl who passed away unexpectedly this morning,” the fundraiser, organized by Jaque Mendoza of Borger TX, read.
“Daniela and Daniel Campos, her loving parents, are now faced with the unimaginable grief of losing their daughter while also caring for their three other children,”
The GoFundMe had nearly realized it’s $75,000 goal at the time of publishing this report.
Regarding the incident, it’s reported the mother was driving at the time of the unfortunate accident.
