Ghana Football Is Dead – Nana Aba Anamoah
Nana Aba Anamoah, who is the initiator for Women of Valour conference and the general manager of EIB Network has said that football in Ghana is dead, so the need to dissolve the FA and invest the money elsewhere.
The football fan claims she has worked with and been very close to Kurt Okraku and Henry Asante Twum so she was very optimistic that those two would be able to make Ghana football better because she knew they were capable of the work but they have both disappointed her.
”I used to work with Kurt when he was doing the FA Cup. I used to host it for him. And I expected better from Kurt Okraku, but Kurt has not done better. I expected Henry Asante Twum to do better. He hasn’t done better,” she said.
Talking about the state of football in Ghana, the broadcast journalist vehemently stated that “Our football is dead! Have you followed the local league? Forget about the Black Stars, because they don’t matter. The real problem is our local league. It is dead!”
She revealed that she saw the “Save Ghana Football” protest which was organized by Countryman Songo, Sports Obama, Kamkam Boadu, and among other renowned sports personalities and it was very funny to her because at the moment, nothing can make Ghana football better.
She suggested that instead of the protest and numerous criticisms, the FA must be dissolved so that money could be invested elsewhere.
“Yesterday, I saw that protest, the ‘save Ghana football’. It’s not going to change anything.
What we should do is dissolve that FA, and get a ban from FIFA, and put our house in order. And putting a house in order doesn’t mean putting friends and cronies there. It means to put people with sense there to work,”
