First lady welcomes baby of the year
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has welcomed the first baby of the year in the FCT.

The baby named Johnson Boluwatife was delivered at 12.03 at the National Hospital Abuja.
The hospital is taking delivery of the first baby of the year after three years
On the occasion, Senator Remi Tinubu said the present administration was committed to the welfare of Nigerians and urged nursing mothers to take proper care of their babies wellbeing.
“I urge nursing mothers to take adequate care of their babies, ensure that they are immunized as and when due, practise exclusive breastfeeding and provide them with adequate nutritious and healthy weaning food for their brain development.
She added that the birth of the child symbolizes new beginning and hope for Nigeria.
“Expectant mothers should always take antenatal and postnatal care seriously, maintain basic hygiene at home, space their births, register their babies with the National Population Commission, NPC and make efforts to enroll them in school at the appropriate age,” she said.
The Chief Medical Director, Professor Mohammed Mahmood, thanked the first lady for the gesture and to appeal for additional assistance to ensure the continued sustainability of the hospital’s legacy.
The parents of the new baby Mr and Mrs Boluwatife Johnson thanked the federal government for the kind gesture and promised to train the child in the way of the lord.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, who was on the first Lady’s entourage provided financial assistance to a patients at the hospital.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of gifts to the first baby of the year and other nursing mothers.
