On her Instagram stories, Kefilwe revealed how she decided to let go of distractions and focus on her faith. Known for her work in luxury fashion, she posted a video of herself burning Versace clothes, especially those with the brand’s Medusa logo.
“Burning the Medusa face was one of the most freeing and healing things I’ve ever done,” she said. “It helped me break down the idols I didn’t realize I had in my heart, things that kept me from fully following Jesus.”
Kefilwe explained that she has given her life to Jesus, repented of her sins, and removed things that allowed negativity into her life. “I see life differently now and have learned to live with humility,” she added.
Kefilwe, who appeared in Netflix’s ‘Young, Famous & African’, wants to inspire others with her story. The show, which follows the lives of African celebrities, showed a version of her that she says no longer reflects who she is.
She also sent a message to men sending her inappropriate direct messages on Instagram, saying, “Stop sending me ‘can I get to know you’ DMs. Unsending those messages might be a good idea before I expose you!”
Kefilwe encouraged her followers to be spiritually alert, saying, “Spiritual spouses, like incubus and succubus, are real. Their goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. Be careful about who you let into your life.”
Her journey hasn’t been easy. It included three months of fasting and dealing with emotional baggage from her first marriage. After being criticized for burning her luxury items, Kefilwe explained her reasons, referring to the Bible.
“In the Bible, such items are called ‘accursed’ (Joshua 7:13). The Medusa image represents a Greek god, and as Christians, we can’t serve two masters. I couldn’t give the items away because they carry spiritual meaning. Burning them was part of reclaiming my spiritual freedom.”
She ended by saying, “I’m sharing this not to judge anyone but to encourage people to reflect. One day, I’ll share more details, but for now, I hope this helps explain my decision.”
