Clay ‘Dream’ shared a meme calling the entirety of TommyInIt’s fans r—ded. The post sparked a furious backlash that Tommy happily encouraged while Dream clapped back by tagging the entire internet as hypocrites.
The Dream meme containing the R slur against TommyInIt’s fans showed the hypothetical ‘Dreamship Stans’ choosing between growing up and becoming a r—-rd.
The post quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons and social media jumped on it to ‘ratio’ Dream.
Reactions included: “how long until dream tweets “love you guys♥️” from his private” one user wrote, mocking Dream in an almost prescient tweet.
Another wrote: “Dream losing absolutely everything because he can’t guilt trip and manipulate Tommy anymore,”
Tommy quickly jumped on it, sharing Dream’s meme after he deleted it in order to ensure more reach and more reactions from fans.
“No f*cking way did I make Dream say the R slur again. Actual bastard,” TommyInit tweeted.
Dream defended himself initially, pointing to previous points he believes he was the victim of the same slur with no protection or outrage from the web.
“Super annoying having certain creators sh*t on me and my friends constantly when we never say anything back. You shouldn’t say the word, but I’m literally autistic, and the whole internet loved everyone calling me slurs so obviously people are being disingenous,” Tommy ranted.
He later had to backtrack, posting an apology of sorts which he also later deleted.
In the half-a**ed, later deleted apology, Dream continued his charges of hypocrisy, while admitting in certain paragraphs that he was wrong to use the slur.
He said he was genuinely confused about the rules for the use of the slur because multiple people had gone viral using it and everyone excused them for it because they’re neurodivergent, yet when he uses it he has to suffer consequences.
“Obviously it’s the internet being disingenous,” Dream went on. “…that doesn’t completely invalidate anyone that might be upset by it. Most of the people calling me ableist for using it are the same people that lit off fireworks when Nicolas Cantu was the slur slinging slasher (including Tommy’s closest friends). It’s either okay or it’s not okay, the double standards are infuriating,”
Dream had more to rant about, adding: “I have my own reasons for having a problem with Tommy going around being the ‘internet police,’ and was expecting to get a ton of s**t for going after poor Tommy, that lies about me constantly,”
He later deleted the post for reasons best known for himself. The internet cannot get enough of the drama, calling it the ‘Kendrick vs Drake beef’ for Minecraft fans.
