Tensions flared during a session of the Appointments Committee as members of the Majority and Minority clashed over the vetting of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The disagreement arose when the Minority suggested rescheduling the vetting to Friday, citing concerns over the day’s proceedings. However, the Majority opposed this proposal, insisting that the vetting should continue as planned.

As the debate intensified, the session descended into chaos, with tables overturned and microphones destroyed in the heated exchange. Security presence in the conference room was heightened as tensions escalated, bringing the committee’s work to a standstill.

Meanwhile, some Majority members expressed frustration over the excessive time spent vetting Hon. Sam George, arguing that certain questions were unnecessary and prolonged the process.
With both sides refusing to compromise, Majority Leader Haruna Iddrisu ultimately adjourned the meeting to the following day.
