The Stars comfortably dispatched of the island nation, their closest rivals in group qualifying, to take a commanding five-point lead in the Group.
Comoros, another island nation, has a chance to whittle Ghana’s lead down to three when they take on Chad on Tuesday.
Ghana took the lead early against Madagascar in the Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in Morocco when Thomas Partey headed home a Jordan Ayew free kick in the 11th minute.
The two combined again for Ghana’s second just after halftime when Partey headed home another Ayew cross.
The Stars remained relatively in control of the game, conceding little to the Malagasy. The third goal arrived when Ayew – having a blinder of a game – set up his third of the night when he sent Kudus through on goal with a through ball for the West Ham forward to poke home.
The win is Ghana’s 5th out of six games and leaves the team on 15 points, 5 ahead of Madagascar and 6 ahead of Comoros, who have a game in hand.
