Ghana has been ranked as the 125th happiest country in the world, and 19th in Africa, in a surprising 2025 World Happiness Report. Ghana, with a score of 4.340 on the World Happiness Index, was ranked below 18 other African countries, including known conflict zones such as Somalia and Chad, and neighbors Nigeria, Benin, and Burkina Faso. The home of the immediate past Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, was reportedly raided by National Security Operatives on Wednesday, March 19.
