The social media personality made this revelation during a TikTok live session, where she recounted how the large sum was stolen from her account under suspicious circumstances.
According to Asantewaa, despite lodging a complaint with the bank, no concrete action has been taken to address the issue or recover her lost funds.
She lamented the poor response from GCB Bank, criticising their handling of the situation and calling out their weak security system, which she believes makes it easy for hackers to exploit customers.
“I don’t know how this happened, but my money is gone, and the bank isn’t doing anything about it,” she fumed.
“GCB needs to improve its security because people’s hard-earned money is at risk.” She added.
Her revelation has sparked widespread concern, with many social media users sympathising with her and sharing similar experiences of unexplained deductions and alleged fraudulent transactions within various banking institutions.
Some have called for the Bank of Ghana to investigate the security of digital banking systems to protect customers from financial losses.
