Miles, of Silver Springs MD, was a 2024 graduate of the University who took up a position as a student manager. Her cause of death has not been specified.
Bowie State Athletics shared a statement announcing the tragic news. “We are deeply saddened to share the loss of our beloved @bowiestfootball student support staff, Amani Miles,” the statement began. “Amani’s presence was a source of inspiration and strength to us all,”
Amani graduated Bowie State University in 2024 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. Miles was Head Football Equipment Manager while still in school. She engaged in other extra curricular activities such as being a member of Bowie State Circle K International and the Bowie State Cab Street Team.
Miles had celebrated her graduation in December, sharing photos of herself in her gown and rejoicing over finally landing her business admin degree. A cousin also celebrated her, sharing a photo of her and congratulating her on her feat.
Born January 6, 2002, Miles had just turned 23 years old.

Bowie State Athletics extended their condolences to the family and friends of Amani over her tragic death. Miles’ class of 2024 mates also remembered her in a tribute message.
“To our fallen Bulldog, Amani Miles – a loving daughter, sister, friend, and forever Bowie Bulldog. We lost a sweet and innocent soul far too soon. From equipment manager to a proud Fall 2024 graduate in Business Marketing, Amani left a mark that will never fade. Her light and kindness touched so many, and her legacy will live on in our hearts forever,” the group said.
