Afua Asantewaa now ‘owes’ Guinness World Records 7,792ghc – Full Gist
On Thursday, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum ended her 126-hour, 52-minute singing marathon, which started on December 24, 2023.
Sunil Waghmare of India set the Guinness World Record 11 years earlier, which she wanted to break.
Due to her exceptional achievement, many Ghanaians await Guinness Worldwide Records’ decision to invalidate or crown her as the new Sing-A-Thon worldwide champion.
We must wait 13 weeks unless Afua Aduonum pays Guinness World Records GHC 7,792 for Priority Evidence Review.
Many thought Aduonum was kidding when she said she wanted to break the solo singing marathon record.
People flocked to Akwaaba Village in Accra to see and hear her sing after the project gained popularity and received coverage in both traditional and modern media.

The Aduonum hopes to beat Waghmare’s 2012 record. Waghmare sang for 105 hours.
Aduonum began her pursuit in Accra on December 24, 2023, and planned to finish at midday on December 29. She was advised to stop at 7:00 am by her medical team due to worries about her body’s stress tolerance.
When she files her attempt, the Guinness World Records review panel will decide whether she breaks the record.
Even with her followers’ hopes, singing longer than the record does not ensure success.
Candidate submissions must follow the organization’s complicated rules. Submissions without sequencing may result in rejection.
The normal review procedure takes 12 weeks, according to Guinness World Records. Applicants may request a five-day priority review.

Expedited review costs more. We provide Priority Evidence Review after the record attempt and evidence submission.
“By jumping the queue, you will expedite the process and discover the outcome of your record attempt sooner,” claim their website.
“Upon receiving all of your evidence, it will be promptly reviewed within five business days, which is significantly shorter than the typical duration of 12 weeks,” they said.
Existing title applicants must pay £350, $650, or €440 GHC 7,792 (with VAT if applicable) for Priority Evidence Review.”It is worthwhile if you are unable to tolerate a 12-week wait to ascertain whether you have achieved the status of being Officially Amazing,” said they.
Afua said during a recent interview on UTV that she has not submitted her attempt yet, as her team is still in the process of gathering the necessary evidence.
