7 dangerous diseases that can kill you within 24 hours
There are many diseases that pose a great danger to human lives due to their ability to kill the victim without giving them chance to fight for their lives.
Unlike cancer, HIV and other kinds of illness that allow the victim to live with their loved ones before it kills them.
The worst part of these diseases is that it can kill in a day is that they weaken and poisons the victim’s body within a short time resulting in untimely death. The fact that there is no cure for some of them makes it even them the worst.
These diseases are very fatal. Here are the world’s most deadly diseases you must avoid coming in contact with.
1 Stroke
As the number five cause of death in the United States, someone dies of a stroke less than every four minutes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
A stroke happens when a clot blocks a blood vessel in the brain (or the blood vessel ruptures), which cuts off oxygen to the brain. In the case of an ischemic stroke, clot-busting medications can be given to save your life—but typically within three hours.
2 Sudden cardiac arrest
The condition is responsible for killing 325,000 adults in the United States every year—most often in adults in their 30s and 40s, and men are at increased risk, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Unlike a heart attack, sudden cardiac death is often caused by an arrhythmia (where the heart beats abnormally). “Death will occur within minutes, if left untreated,” they write on their website.
3 Pneumonic plague
Transmitted by the bite of an infected flea or through contact with another infected person, this “lung-based” plague, which most commonly occurs in Africa, can be fatal in 18 to 24 hours if not quickly treated with antibiotics, per the World Health Organization (WHO).
4 Meningococcemia
Meningococcal bacteria can cause a rare disease called meningococcemia. “This bacteria can circulate in the bloodstream and cause very rapid organ failure and death. I’ve seen patients come to the ER not feeling well and die eight hours later.
It very aggressively destroys tissues, causes blood vessels to clot and limbs to die quickly,” says Dr. Citronberg. “This is the single-most feared infection,” he says. If you are without a spleen—an organ that helps protect your body from certain types of bacteria—you may be more at risk. The best treatment is actually prevention with vaccination, he says.
5 Cholera
Ingesting food or water contaminated with the Vibrio cholerae bacteria can lead to watery diarrhea and severe dehydration. According to WHO, it can cause shock and kill someone within hours. An oral rehydration solution or IV fluids are necessary to treat the illness.
6 Ebola
Ebola is a deadly contagious disease caused by human exposure to the remains or sick monkeys, gorillas, forest antelope, chimpanzees and fruit bats in the rainforest of the West African Regions. It is transmitted through close contact with the body fluid of the infected animals. The fluid can be secretions, organs, and blood. The disease affects animals too such as monkeys, chimpanzees, and gorillas. The victims usually passed it to other humans via stools, open skin, urine, semen, and blood.
7 Dengue Fever
There are over 100 million cases of dengue fever recorded worldwide, each year. The disease is transmitted to humans via the bite of an infected mosquito.
The severe and fatal form of dengue is Dengue Hemorrhagic.
The symptoms include high fever, severe pain behind the eyes, muscle & bone pain, joint pain, body rash and mild bleeding from the nose. The symptoms usually disappear after some few days resulting in the victim coming down with severe abdominal pain, constant vomiting and difficulty in breathing.
In the next 24 to 48-hour period, the victim blood vessels, the capillaries will be leaking resulting in the fluid component escaping the blood vessels into the lining of the abdominal cavity.
This will result in the circulatory system failure, shock and untimely death of the victim. There is no drug that can treat dengue fever except co
