5 Things you should never say to your kids
Reality is that there are no manuals and children still need to be protected mentally, physically, emotionally, financially and many other ways.
The most important things each parent should do is to understand their child better and yearn for a loving relationship.
As parents are also human and do make mistakes especially when under a lot of stress, it is important to be mindful of the words we use when we are speaking with our children.
Following are five things to never say to you kids, provided by DR Roseann of Calm Brain Happy Family.
“I don’t have time for this right now.” Dismissing your child’s feelings or needs can cause them to feel neglected and regulating their feeling in the future.
“Stop crying, or I’ll give you something to cry about.” Threatening your child can cause fear, anxiety, and feelings of powerlessness.
“Why can’t you be more like your friend?” Comparing your child to their peers can create a sense of competition, jealousy, and lack of confidence in their abilities.
“I should never have had kids.” Expressing regret for having children can cause emotional distress and feelings of rejection in your child.
