#2024 Polls: Bawumia votes in Walewale December 07, 2024
The flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has cast his vote in the ongoing December 7 general elections.
Dr Bawumia voted at Walewale in the Northern Region as Ghanaians head to the polls to elect a new President and Members of Parliament (MPs) in what is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in the nation’s democratic journey.
Voting commenced promptly at 7 a.m. across the country’s 276 constituencies, with some voters arriving as early as 3 a.m. to secure their place in line.
The presidential race features 15 candidates, with Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling NPP and former President John Dramani Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) dominating what is expected to be a closely contested battle.
In addition to selecting a President, voters will also elect MPs for all 276 constituencies nationwide.
