2023 BECE – GES Announces New Date

Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a new date and for Junior High School candidates who will be sitting for the the 2023 BECE.

The GES shared via their social media platforms that the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE ) will commence on Monday August 7, 2023. The 5 day examination will come to a halt on August 11 ,2023 which is a Friday.
2023 BECE
This year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE ) will be written earlier as compared to the previous years.
In 2022, the examination was administered to candidates from 17th October to 21st October. The West African Examination Council is yet to release an official examination timetable and examination dates for candidates.
The 2023 BECE to be written in August will be the last examination for students using the old curriculum.
In 2024, the standard base curriculum will be used for the examination.
The GES has therefore directed all head teachers not to repeat any student who was in form two at the end of the 2022 academic year, since such a move will disadvantage such students.
